GENERAL SUMMARY: The Employee Relations (ER) Specialist has direct responsibility leading a team of ER Generalists at both the OFC and OCC campus. Focus is on identifying and resolving associate concerns by working with business leadership to resolve issues; advocate our open door policy and proactive problem solving. Position works with business partners in Distribution Centers, Contact Centers, Headquarters, and other Gap facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Employee Relations:
· Lead the daily Employee Relations function including a team of ER Generalists.
· Responsible for building the knowledge, skills and bench strength of our ER team.
· Interact daily with leadership and associates to ensure an open line of communication is maintained in order to identify and address any issues, needs and/or concerns. Provide quality frontline HR customer service to employees and business partners in the OFC HR Center and the OCC. Coach and facilitate leadership regarding effective communication, policy/practice, and the resolution of issues.
· Conduct investigations regarding discrimination, sexual harassment, workplace violence, and other high-risk issues.
· Liaison with Corporate Relations on high-risk issues and initiatives.
· Identify and implement ER best practices.
· Complete special projects and stretch assignments as required
· Ensure effective communications—up, down and across the business. Model Gap’s Purpose, Values and Behaviors (PVB).
Work Environment: Identify and conduct appropriate Learning and Development workshops for our leadership team. Key business owner of any employee opinion survey (EOS) activity. Develop and implement positive employee relations strategies in order to ensure all facilities represent an employer of choice. Facilitate roundtables and other proactive employee relations sessions. Capture and analyze data (i.e., roundtable, exit interview, turnover, and EOS) to identify trends and recommend changes.
Compliance and Policy Development:
· Gatekeeper for fair and consistent application of policy and procedure.
· Facilitate special projects related to policy development, including training and education resource tools regarding HR compliance issues.
· Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws and provide appropriate communication/education for business partners regarding new regulations.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS: Daily interaction with all levels of the leadership team, business partners and peers at all GID Distribution, Contact Centers, Headquarters, and other GAP facilities as necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, skills & abilities: · In-depth knowledge of HR policies and employment law

· PC skills: Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, Access and / or other software / database skills
2) Minimum educational level: · AA / BA / BS in Human Resources or a related business field is preferred
· PHR/SPHR certification a plus
3) Minimum experience: · 5+ years Human Resources or equivalent experience preferred
· 3+ years of leadership experience preferred
· Distribution/Call Center environment experience preferred
