Full-time Nurse Manager (RN) for Emergency Services
Susanville, California is situated at the foot of the scenic Sierra Nevada Mountains. This 25-bed acute care facility is located in the northeast corner of California near the Nevada and Oregon borders. Considered the healthcare hub of northeastern California, our Client provides the community with quality medical care, state-of-the-art technology and excellent patient care services.
Responsibilities:
Exhibits professional leadership behaviors that are consistent with the mission, philosophy, and values of our Client and the operational strategic objectives. This is demonstrated through various aspects including communications, problem solving abilities, flexibility, taking initiative, work attendance, development/implementation of departmental policies/procedures. Promotes safety excellence standards in all aspects of performance of these functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment and attends safety education sessions. Demonstrates sound professional judgment. Is a member of the department manager team. Responsible for using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to assist the organization in assuring the excellent patient care through effective processes. Responsible for the operations of the inpatient services assuring the coordination of patient care. Oversees the operations of the inpatient services area including medical surgical, definitive observation unit, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Assists in achieving goals for strategic initiatives, core measures, and clinical quality initiatives. Demonstrates required competencies for this position. Provides the leadership for the department in developing people, providing service excellence, delivering quality patient care, meeting financial targets, and promoting growth of services. Demonstrates leadership skills for management of medical surgical and definitive observation unit. Professional development meeting organizations mandatory educations session including HIPAA, corporate compliance, reorientation. Keeps current in best patient care practices, maintains current licensure, BCLS. Able to develop, implement, monitor compliance of pertinent policies and procedures. Participates and conducts meaningful performance improvement and strives for sustained improvement. Attends required committee/department/staff meeting regularly. Demonstrates and strives for service excellence. Effectively communicates with peers, medical staff, other outside customers, patients and families. Able to prepare clear, detailed organizational written/oral reports. Presents reports and interprets them to the medical staff or other members of the health care team. Strives to improve Q12 targets. Demonstrates age specific competencies for all age groups including neonates, infants, toddlers, school age child, adolescent, adult, and geriatrics. Able to demonstrate competencies pertinent to requirements of the position in all age groups for safety, equipment, medications, therapy, patient education. Recognizes infection control problems unique to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
Qualifications:
This position requires a current California Registered Nursing License. Baccalaureate degree in health related field preferred. Current ACLS certification. Basic knowledge in computer operations to include word, and e-mail. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with our Client values, management expectations and service standards.
