The ProSource Group is currently working directly with Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) to assist them with some of their high-priority requirements.   You will be applying for a direct full-time position with SOE.

We are currently searching for a Senior Storage Administrator / Linux Administrator to join our team in San Diego, CA.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

As Storage administrator, you will work with systems administrators to provide the required data availability for the applications and departments as needed to provide business continuity.

 

The Storage Administrator will be responsible for the deployment and administration of a variety of storage technologies, including NetApp and EMC.  Linux host-level integration will form part of the day-to-day activities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Storage technologies, it’s administration as well as Linux Systems Administration, and will be capable of working in a multiple-distribution environment.

 

Additionally, the storage administrator would be responsible for selecting product standards, defining standard configurations, collaborating on component architecture design principles with other teams as they architect storage systems for new requirements, and planning and executing projects for tiered data storage solutions.

 

Additionally, this person must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment where projects

may take as little as a few days from conception to deployment.

 

 

Requirements:

·         Minimum of 5 years demonstrating Storage administration in an Enterprise production environment.

·         Extensive hands-on experience with large-scale (multiple-TB) NAS/SAN environments (EMC, Network Appliance, and Brocade experience preferred).

·         Strong working knowledge of EMC SAN technologies: EMC Clariion and DMX series arrays, Brocade FC switches, Navisphere, TimeFinder Clone and SRDF.

·         Experience in storage administration for large-scale Oracle installations, using clustered file system technologies.

·         Previous experience as a Sr. Unix Administrator is a plus.

·         Affluent in designing optimal backup, recovery, and disaster recovery schemes, schedules, and test plans and tiered storage architectures

·         Experience using host-level HBA utilities & management software on Linux.

·         Experience in host/storage data replication, snapshot & data mover software

·         Experience in administration of host volume management software.

·         Experience in FC switch configuration, zoning, and monitoring

·         Experience configuring host-level using CIFS, NFS, iSCSI.

·         Storage virtualization software

·         Strong knowledge of Linux kernel configuration, performance monitoring, and tuning as it relates to storage integration.

·         Experience working with load balancing technologies and large-scale web server farms.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Strong organizational skills.

·         Be part of an on-call rotation schedule.

·         Advanced problem solving skills.

·         Proven ability to quickly isolate and troubleshoot issues under pressure in a production environment.

·         Ability to clearly document design and procedural information.

·         Must be willing to travel to domestic and international datacenter locations.

Desired skills and knowledge:

Prior hands on experience with Dell Poweredge and IBM x-series hardware.

Prior experience in benchmarking new technologies and selection of storage architectures.

Good working knowledge of Sun Solaris.
