One of Aavalar's clients in Southern NJ is expanding and has an immediate need for an Engineer with hardware design and firmware development experience.  Aavalar has been contracted to fill this position as soon as possible.  This is a full time permanent position.  A job description follows:

Position Title:  Embedded Systems Engineer

Work Location: Southern New Jersey

Work environment : Cube and lab in a very nice suburban office building/park.

Who does this position will report to?: Director of Engineering

Size of group:  Probably 3 other Engineers, but will also work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers as well as drafters.

Example of potential projects (NOT necessarily current projects):

> Project #1: Storage Area Network (SAN) board design

> Project #2: Multi-port audio board

Responsibilities:

Design, develop and test boards and firmware.  Lead junior engineer and consultants as necessary. 

Manage development schedule for the team.

Role with the group:  Senior Engineer ( may be some mentoring of junior engineers or contractors)

Required Skills:

> Strong firmware development experience

> Hardware design experience with microcontrollers, specialized VLSI and PLD  integration.

*** Note: particular processor experience is not important.  We are looking for general experience ***

> Experience writing real time code, low level communication code and device driver code.

> Experience writing start up / boot code and low level board diagnostics

> Perfect verbal and written communication skills

Work Hours and Schedule:

Normal flex with 9-5 as core but flexible even with those parameters on a temporary basis.  Overtime will happen some of the time at the usual crunch times of the project.

How is compensation structured?

> Salary:  to $85k range (maybe higher for the perfect candidate)
