Arcata Associates, Inc. is an engineering services and information technology company supporting NASA and the DoD. We currently have the following opening for an Electronics Technician II at Atlantic Field NC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintains data communication equipment, radios, audio interface equipment, and their associated equipment. Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturer manuals or similar documents. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance as scheduled.
Performs troubleshooting, isolates malfunctions, and repairs to the component level. Work typically requires configuration and troubleshooting of IP networks including routers, switches, and various file servers. Uses complex test instruments such as pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, distortion analyzers, and computer analytical equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for compliance with accepted practices.
Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy "C" School or vocational school with formal training in the field of electronic equipment maintenance.
Four years’ electronic maintenance in the following areas:
Digital/analog signal processing;
Synchro-servo circuits;
Electromechanical devices;
Video signal processing and recording;
Communications (multiplexer equipment, VHF, UHF, microwave, fiber-optic);
Digital/analog computer systems;
File servers
Routers and network hardware
DC power supplies;
Optical equipment;
Test equipment;
RF signal processing;
RF systems;
Low-voltage AC equipment;
Antenna systems;
Primary and secondary power equipment;
Auto-transfer (UPS) equipment;
Portable AC generators;
NES/crypto maintenance experience desired.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Assist government with CMS duties as required.
Documents maintenance actions in IEMS.
Will be operationally qualified at designated tech level within 90 days of hiring or promotion.
Cross-trained and qualified to operate at least two additional TACTS system.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
Must maintain current RF Radiation Awareness certification.
Must maintain current Safety at Heights climber certification.
Must maintain current COMSEC certification.
May be required to maintain current Marine Survival Training certification.
May be required to maintain current Helicopter Underwater Egress Training certification.
Must possess a valid state Driver’s License.
Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Range environment. Ability to work outdoors. Ability to operate computers. Ability to climb up and down eight flights of exterior stairs while carrying equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Capable and certified to climb/descend towers carrying equipment
