CITY: Plainville STATE: Connecticut COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities): GE Security seeks an electronic hardware engineer with a background in analog filter design, analog video design/testing, and high-speed data conversion. Ability to design analog filters and simulate using the latest tools is required. Knowledge of Ethernet and digital design including the use of FPGA and CPLDs is required. Detailed working knowledge of the design issues of both LED and laser transmitters and receivers is a required. Additionally, PCB layout for EMC compliance and manufacturing is required. Working knowledge of PADS PCB and Power Logic is a strong plus. Working knowledge of high frequency RF design is desirable. You will need an ability to work in small, self-motivated teams collaborating with manufacturing and supply chain to determine design changes to maintain the competitive lead of the Fiber product lines. You will be responsible for the sustaining engineering of GE Security's Fiber Optic product lines. You will work closely with manufacturing to ensure the product lines are maintained and meet product specifications. This includes obsolete component substitution, redesign for cost savings, and support to keep product flowing through the production process. A can-do attitude, with the ability to energize and work with multi functional teams is required.
