Electronic Health Records

Position Title: EHR Business Manager for Mid Rogue eHealth Services

Position Summary: Acts in partnership with the Mid Rogue eHealth Services (MReHS) EHR Medical Director to plan, implement and manage all aspects of practice management (PMS) and electronic health record (EHR). Will function within an application service provider (ASP) operation for the provision of products and services to Mid Rogue IPA shareholders and other physician offices in Southern Oregon.

· Reports to the Mid Rogue IPA CEO and the Mid Rogue eHealth Services Board of Directors.

· Develops plans and strategies for the provision of products and services for Mid Rogue eHealth Services (MReHS) and the advancement of a community record in the Rogue Valley region; recommends plans and strategies to the MReHS Board of Directors.

· Works in partnership with the MReHS Medical Director and the MRIPA CIO to manage daily operations of MReHS ASP products and services including office recruitment and sales, customer service, implementation planning, human resources, end-user training, end-user support services, contracting and financial management.

· Recruits, hires and supervises MReHS administrative personnel, trainers, implementation specialists and other non-IT operations staff who support ASP services.

· Chairs weekly MReHS operations team meetings.

· Establishes necessary polices and procedures for MReHS business and customer service processes, and related security and confidentiality processes.

· Develops annual MReHS budgets and monitors financial performance against annual profit and expense targets.

· Develops and manages all implementation schedules, plans and services in close collaboration with MReHS vendor partners.

· Participates in sales, office recruitment and presentations as appropriate. Represents MReHS to Federal and State agencies and health information technology forums and organizations.

· Oversees forums that support close and personal relationships with MReHS customers, potential customers, and the community.

· Liaison with Mid Rogue IPA Board of Directors; provides Board routine status reports.

· Assures the confidentiality and security of all patient and practice information; complies with all HIPAA requirements and regulations.

· Other duties as assigned by Mid Rogue IPA CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Undergraduate degree in business, health care administration or informatics; or comparable work experience.

· Thorough knowledge of at least one of the following areas of expertise:

o Medical informatics

o Independent physician organization operations

o Health care operations, preferably in the ambulatory medical office setting

o Medical records management or health information management

· Demonstrated working knowledge of computer applications in health care e.g. practice management systems, electronic health records, ancillary systems like pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, etc.

· Demonstrated working knowledge of medical terminology and ambulatory medical office operations.

Skills and Abilities:

· Possess the leadership skills to represent the perspective of MReHS and the community of provider offices at large while managing day-to-day operations of a busy, complex company providing many services to its customer base.

· Personal traits required: Strong communication and listening skills critical. Highly organized, productive and astute at problem solving and conflict resolution. Must understand group dynamics, possess the abilities to deal with interpersonal relationships and to build support and consensus.

· Educative approach to answering questions and informing others about EHRs and the impact of EHRs on office practice.

· Project a positive image of MRIPA and MReHS.

· A firm, confident responsiveness that maintains MReHS integrity. Ability to handle sensitive situations and stress effectively and in a professional manner.
