Provide electrical support and project management services to produce high quality Dyneema fiber and Dyneema UD in a safe, cost effective manner while maintaining excellent safety, human relations, and environmental standards. Owner of the electrical distribution systems for Dyneema. Support maintenance and production by designing changes needed within the system. Provide expertise to solve system problems and support Maintenance items related to the electrical equipment. Serve as electrical liaison for Dyneema. Responsible for ensuring consistency with other Dyneema sites. Responsible for implementation, future upgrades, and training users. Manage projects to stay within budget and schedule. Monitor and analyze repetitive system problems. Determine the root cause for equipment failures and initiate equipment or procedural changes to correct the problem. Coordinate maintenance turnarounds related to power distribution and ensure work is completed on time and in a safe manner. Prepare, review and approve production records including maintenance procedures, operating procedures, and change requests as required. Interact with technicians on a regular basis to ensure effective communication of production and compliance related changes in procedures. Conduct formalized training for operative/technical personnel as necessary. Assist in developing operating goals in support of divisional, unit, and corporate objectives. Develop plans to reduce COGS by continuously improving efficiencies, processing times, reducing labor and material costs, reducing maintenance costs, and controlling expense budgets. Share the responsibility of each employee to work in a safe and responsible manner in order to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace. Ensure all work is conducted in a safe and effective manner and all applicable procedures and policies are followed. Take action to correct unsafe acts, systems and procedures. Comply with all job-related safety and other training requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
MS in a related technical field (Engineering or other physical science) with 3 years industry related experience. Or BA/BS in related technical field with 5 years industry related experience. Or AA/AS degree in related technical field with 6 years industry related experience. Or 7 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of power distribution from 12,470 volts. Diversified knowledge of electrical systems, substations, transformers, medium voltage switching, switchgears, distribution panels, control wiring, automation, variable speed drives and instrumentation systems. Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70e and able to reference decisions based on applicable codes. Diversified knowledge of multiple engineering specialties, including mechanical, chemical, electrical, and civil. Experience managing projects in excess of $50k. Willing to respond to all types of emergencies and spend overtime hours in monitoring scheduled work when required. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Project.
