General Description:

Electrical Inspectors must be a registered Electrical Engineer or a journeyman electrician with a current Electrician Journeyman Certificate of Fitness from the State of Alaska (“AK”) Department of Labor. Electrical Inspectors tasked with the inspection of Fire Alarm system installation or modification shall meet the minimum requirements of AK Division of Fire Prevention Fire System Permit (Class 1-A) as described in 13 AAC.50.035. Electrical Inspectors shall have a documented background in electrical theory, comprehensive knowledge of construction, materials and equipment used in industrial electrical installations and able to perform work as assigned.  S/he must have a thorough knowledge of the codes and standards under which s/he operates. Electrical Inspectors shall have a minimum of three (3) years experience in electrical inspection, applying requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC). IAEI Certified Electrical Inspector (CEI) Master certification, ICBO CEI or AK licensed Electrical Administrator/Unlimited Commercial Wiring Category may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
