Description: The Whiting Business Unit, a 410MBD petroleum refinery, is the second largest refining asset owned by BP and is the fourth largest refinery in the United States. The refinery resides on 1,400 acres and stretches across three communities, one being Whiting, Indiana. Whiting is located in the Chicago metro area about 15 miles (about 30 minutes) south of Chicago along Lake Michigan at the border between Indiana and Illinois. The Whiting BU is a member of the refining SPU and interfaces with several other BP business units in the US Mid-Continent region.
The Operation Canadian Crude (OCC) project will invest over $3bn at Whiting to enable processing of heavy Canadian crudes. New facilities will include a new Coker, Gas Oil Hydrotreater, and Sulfur Recovery trains, along with extensive infrastructure upgrades and a major Pipestill revamp.
The Electrical Engineer will be a member of the Whiting Business Unit Operations and OCC Maintenance Team (O&M). The Electrical Engineer will work closely with Whiting Business Unit counterparts, as well as design engineers and others on the project, to ensure operability, maintainability, and reliability of installed equipment.
The Electrical Engineer will support installations inside of each new unit across the OCC project.
Work seamlessly with WBU Works organization to ensure compatibility of unit electrical and equipment, and consistency of strategies and practices.
Act as a functional information conduit between the WBU Maintenance function and the OCC Project.
Disseminate best practices across the Project O&M teams, and ensure consistent application. Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical expertise.
