The successful candidate will provide tactical and strategic support for the electrical distribution and utilization system equipment at the Corpus Christi Complex Refinery. He/she will provide technical reviews of electrical specification and standards and present revisions for team review. Participate on project design review teams as the electrical representative. Author electrical equipment reliability strategies and equipment maintenance procedures. Track and report on electrical events and distribution equipment performance.

Provide technical support for electrical distribution technicians. Assist in the analysis for Transformer Oil and UPS/Battery system performance.
Support the Electrical Advisors by performing/coordinate electrical design and development of new equipment installations and the modification of existing electrical equipment consistent with plant standards. Prepare engineering work scopes, cost estimates and justifications for the Electrical Group Capital Spending Plan. Update documentation (one-lines, schematics, databases) as needed. Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on system equipment failures. Work with senior level engineering to perform and report on electrical system studies. The Studies include DAPPER, Captor, A_Fault, Device Evaluations and Ark Flash.

This engineering position shadows a senior level engineer for training and development. Advancement and responsibilities increase with job proficiency.



Work Experience & Skills Required:
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code
Knowledge of electrical testing equipment 
Ability to interpret electrical testing results 
Ability to understand schematic diagrams 

Work Experience & Skills Preferred:
Knowledge/use of engineering software used for electrical system studies. Experience at an operating plant such as a Petroleum Refinery is preferred. 

Education Required:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years experience as a Power Engineer or equivalent

Physical Demands or Unusual Working Conditions:
Able to participate on the after hours Engineering On-Call rotation schedule
