Senior level technical position with modification experience in the aviation industry working on general aviation aircraft, military aircraft and is typically responsible for design/development/analysis activities.
Will be responsible for integrating multiple systems into the plane creating wire diagrams, cable harnesses and wire routing drawings. The engineer will further be responsible for red lining and cleaning up existing drawings as well as creating new ones. 90% of the work will be drafting with Autocad.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Understand, plan, and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, and work instructions and specific Customer requirements.
With guidance from the Engineering Manager and program management, originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of design and development activities.
Prepare material for, and conduct, periodic design reviews.
Execute engineering design, analysis and development activities consistent with Customer quality, cost and schedule requirements.
Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties as required by more senior engineer(s), DER, Project Engineer, Program Manager or the Engineering Manager
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or electrical engineering field of study or equivalent experience with focus on general aviation and military aircraft modifications.
A minimum of five years work experience in positions involving design, analysis, and development of aircraft primary and secondary structures.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
A demonstrated ability to successfully perform at the Senior Engineer level for a minimum period of five years is required.
Knowledge of FAR regulations and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process.
Experience with coordinating certification efforts with FAA-Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) required
