Yoh Engineering has a contract opening for an Electrical Engineer 3 in Rochester, NY.

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment or other hardware systems. 
• Determining design approaches and parameters and will analyze electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design with time and cost constraints. 
• Analyzing equipment to establish operating data and will conduct experimental tests and evaluate results. 
• Selecting components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability and may also review vendor capability to support development.
• Development of RF hardware to support advanced HF/VHF/UHF/Microwave radio products and will be a member or leader of a cross-functional development team with hands-on responsibility for the design and support of receiver, synthesizer, and power amplifier hardware from the definition of requirements through the integration and testing of the completed product. 

Important factors include: 

• Knowledge of MIL-STD 461, 810, and 1275 with appreciation for determining the applicable requirements and importance of the corresponding test plans
• HF SSB, VHF/UHF AM/FM radio operation, propagation, and system utilization
• Strong comprehension of electronic circuitry design techniques (AF, RF, linear and switching power supplies, etc.)
• Strong understanding of HF - UHF antennae
• Ability to work well with individuals/groups, making suggestions, and mentoring team members when appropriate; self-motivation
• A BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required. 
• Application of design considerations for volume production is desired. 
• Must have a successful track record in planning, executing, and tracking personal task assignments. 
• Experience leading small product development team and mentoring other engineers is required. 
• The position requires a secret US security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
