The North Central Texas Workforce Center-Plano Office is recruiting for a company that is seeking qualified candidates regarding the following position:

The Business Call Center provides customer service for our client’s Energy’s non-residential customers. The primary purpose of the Customer Care Agent position is to provide frontline customer service and sales support for prospective and existing business customers in the area of General Business, Apartment Services, Construction Services or Off-Line Services.

Selected candidates will undertake an extensive training program designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the electric utility industry and the competitive market in Texas and provide the skills needed to serve this important group of customers. Experience in telecom or energy preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responds to and perform a variety of functions including:
• Handle incoming customer service and sales calls
• Enroll new customers
• Answer billing and payment questions
• Report customer outages
• Schedule service orders and service requests
• Generate business sales leads based on marketing campaigns

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

Qualifications sought in successful candidates include:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Electric industry knowledge (especially Texas market) a plus
• Experienced in the use of MS office, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and various customer information systems
• Experience selling in a call center environment is a plus.

• Excellent customer relations skills
• Excellent communications skills, including both verbal and written.
• Excellent analysis and judgment required for determining appropriate courses of action.
• Able to use effective listening skills in selecting appropriate customer offers

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

• Use of a PC, Fax, computer terminal and/or telephone up to 8 house a day
• Rotating “on-call” responsibilities that may require after hours and/or weekend duty
• Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing and/or reaching to access job-related materials
• Open workspace office environment
