Job Summary:
insure that all C&S associates are properly trained and updated in all Operational job function, OSHA and Safety requirements as set forth in the appropriate government regulations and/or company guidelines. This individuals’ responsibilities also includes insuring that the company is in compliance with all local, state, and governmental requirements as they relate to the operation of the Distribution facilities they are assigned. This includes training and/or certifications as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Establish, update, manage and implement a company wide training program to insure that Forklift driver initial certification, remedial training and re-certification take place in a sustainable and repeatable process.Develop a uniform record keeping process to insure that all required paperwork relative to Forklift driver certification is maintained.Re-certify and coordinate the department hourly forklift hands-on trainers who assist in the process outlined in items one and two.Establish, update, manage and implement a company wide training program to insure that Pallet Jack operator initial certification, remedial training and re-certification take place in a sustainable and repeatable process.Develop a uniform record keeping process to insure that all required paperwork relative to Pallet Jack operator certification is maintained.Provide initial and annual, OSHA required, training in the areas of blood borne pathogens, bypassed equipment, hazard communication, PSM/RMP and fire extinguisher training to all associates.Provide initial and annual, OSHA required, training to those salaried and hourly associates needing training in lockout/tagout, Hot Work Permit, Respirator, Emergency response, and Confined Space procedures.Conduct annual updates of all MSDS books within Distribution to insure that all appropriate MSDS sheets for the products being used are in place.Establish, update, manage and implement a Distribution wide operational training program to enhance the performance of the different operating functions. This training program will be utilized for existing and future associates in each operational function.Ensure Fire Loop and Sprinkler Valve inspections are conducted on a by period basis for all Distribution facilities.Assist in the review of workers compensation cases and help the individual departments to ensure that the OSHA 300 Log is accurately filled out and ensure that the OSHA 300A Summary report is completed and posted as required annually.Establish, update, manage and implement a company wide procedure for the handling of damage to the sprinkler systems within the distribution facilities. This includes training of both hourly and salaried associates in the established procedure.Conduct new hire orientation covering the OSHA and Operational training sections of orientation.Conduct at least one Safety Audit of an operational area each month in a logical rotation between facilities.Participate in the monthly Distribution Safety Committee Meetings and help react to the concerns raised.Conduct quarterly awareness training to the local fire departmentsAssist in the coordination of the semi-annual emergency evacuation drills and react to the concerns noted in these drills.Assist in the by period water flow inspection of all wet sprinkler systems.Assist in the semi-annual water flow inspections of all dry pipe sprinkler systems.Insure that the fire protection diesel pump inspection and water tank filling takes place on a weekly basis.Assist in reacting to all government agency inspections to include OSHA.Fulfill any additional responsibilities assigned by the Regional EHS Manager.Job Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.3 -5 years of distribution experience.OSHA/DEHEC regulations and contacts (this can be trained)Full command of the use of Word, Excel, Power Point, and Lotus Notes. MHE train the trainer certification, operational job function train the trainer certification.Strong communication, presentation, public speaking, and organizational skills.
