Description: Eaton Corporation located in Searcy, AR has an opening for EHS Manager.
This position provides environmental, health, and safety leadership to the Searcy plant operations. Reports to the Plant Manager and functionally to the Americas Environmental Health and Safety Manager. Establishes, manages and coordinates all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security functions of the Searcy plant including but not limited to: Safety, ISO 14001, VPP, Corporate EHS Audit program (MESH) and other regulatory areas. Develops programs to meet the regulations set forth by government agencies and corporate in keeping the Searcy plant functioning. Maintains a secure facility by providing support and guidance to the contracted security company.Actively support and strive to meet the strategic goals set by you, the facility, and Eaton Corporation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Facilitates process and provides technical and administrative leadership to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and MESH requirements.
Chooses fiscally and socially responsible methods and processes of managing natural resources and waste.
Continuously identifies, assesses, and reduces/eliminates EHS risk.
Continuously deploys methods of reducing the environmental footprint.
Establishes and maintains relationships with governmental authorities on matters of mutual concern including voluntary certification, maintenance of environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data.
Directs and/or supports ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 registration.
Complies with Eatons ethics policy and keeps management informed of issues associated with regulatory compliance.
Provides for timely EHS training of employees.
Investigates incidents (including near misses, releases, and losses) and accidents to determine root causes and prepares/directs corrective action plans.
Integrates and supports Corporate, Group, and Regional EHS initiatives designed to drive best practices across Eaton.
Initiates opportunities to improve environmental conditions in the community.
Plans to deal with emergency situations that could adversely impact the environment, employees, or the community.
Directs development, maintenance, and achievement of strategic initiatives designed to produce verifiable world-class performance.
Encourages employee involvement in EHS activities.
Promotes off-the-job safety and employee wellness.
Primary communicator of EHS messages to management.
Consults with Corporate, Group, and Regional EHS resources.

501 Qualifications: SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
Comprehension of industry, state, and country environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Strong team-building skills
Strong organizational skills including ability to manage large number of disparate projects and to track projects through completion
Thorough knowledge of industrial chemistry and waste control/elimination technology and practices
Adept at development and utilization of software solutions
Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
Ability to demonstrate managerial courage (e.g., managing varied interests representing potential conflicts)
Ability to lead and support cross-functional process improvement teams
5+ years of experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program management and employee training. (Years and scope of experience would be adjusted based on the demands of the specific job.
Experience with security operations is a plus.
Four (4) year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent.
Relevant advanced degree preferred
Professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent).
Ability to integrate EHS with other functions
Ability to manage, develop, and direct subordinates
