Key to Sutter's business plan, the role of Sutter Health Information Technology is to make electronic data and communications available to Sutter Health employees, providers and patients to support the health and well-being of the community, enhance patient care and safety, and improve business processes and performance. Information Technology's (IT) key approaches to meet these needs consists of the Applications, Telecommunications, Project Management, Web, and Technology. We continue to review IT optimization across our affiliates, regions and entire enterprise. The Principal Trainer provides a variety of training activities for employees at Sutter Health by developing and maintaining the education process for the Enterprise Epic Application implementation. Coordinates and instruct classes for nurses, providers, ancillaries, and business operations. Develops curriculums, lesson plans and manuals. Prepares presentations, coordinates and conducts special training courses. Maintains data systems and schedules. Performs related duties as required. Attend Epic training in Madison, Wisconsin and obtain an Epic Certification, and working independently within one year from date of hire.

Education: Requires bachelor’s degree in nursing, related healthcare field, or education.
Experienced or adult education training.
PreferredMaster’s degree in nursing, related healthcare field, or education.
Special Skills: Conceptual, analytical, negotiation, and problem solving skills are necessary. Exceptional communications skills, both oral and written are required. Effective presentation skills required. Ability to gain cooperation and support through effective use of influence and persuasion required. Understanding of adult learning concepts required. Ability to demonstrate a strong customer service focus in all decisions and actions. Be detail oriented, self directed and able to work with minimal supervision. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. ·
Experience:Knowledge of healthcare delivery, clinical practice, and healthcare operational support. Experience with Electronic Health Record systems is highly desired. Knowledge of software implementation training programs as well as experience as a trainer is required. Experience in enterprise communication approaches/programs is preferred. ·
Knowledge:Demonstrated knowledge of training program development, coordination and communications. Skills in IT training to successfully manage a complex enterprise EHR training program.  Knowledge of hospital operations and structure. General knowledge of EHR requirements and clinical systems in a large integrated delivery system. ·
Special Skills:· Manage and/or be involved in multiple projects at the same time and deliver quality service· Possess good organization skills and be able to prioritize multiple projects and objectives in a rapidly changing environment· Ability to work independently and as part of a team· Act as a team leader· Strong oral presentation and written communication skills. Be able to articulate technical and user needs in a concise manner easily understood by all audiences· Committed to providing exceptional customer service and responding to user needs in a prompt, courteous manner· Maintain a high energy level and be willing to embrace new theory and practical application· Possess creativity and present a proactive approach to all assigned activities ·
Physical Requirements:Requires the ability to adapt to flexible work hours to include evening and weekends. Some travel required. Carry training materials (25 lbs.). Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
