Our client is the reference information division of one of the most prestigious publishing companies in America. They have asked us to locate a Regional Account Manager to sell a subscription service of electronic content reference materials to colleges, universities and public libraries. Ideally based in a major city in like Chicago, this position covers the Midwestern United States and will require overnight travel. This is an existing position with many established accounts with which the company already has a strong client relationship.

The ideal candidate will have a 4-year degree (Political Science degree helpful) and several years of successful sales experience, with a documented track record of success as evidenced by stack rankings, awards and commendations, as well as an interest in selling to the academic community. Experience selling in the educational publishing industry is also helpful. Ability to travel overnight is required.

The successful candidate can expect to earn at least $80-115K or more the first year, based on a starting salary of $50-55K plus bonus that adds at least $30K per year at plan, but could be as high as $60K based on personal performance. In addition, you will receive a car allowance, all travel expenses, an excellent benefit package, and outstanding opportunities for advancement into sales management or marketing in one of the most prestigious companies in the country companies in the country.
