JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of Strategic Alliances (DSA), and working under the supervision of the Program Associate, the Education Assistant for Teaching Artists and Strategic Alliances (“TASA”) has responsibility for supporting the Director in all aspects of the management of LCI’s Consultancies and National Educator Workshops (“NEWs”), and for administrative support for projects supervised by the Director of Strategic Alliances, including the work assignments of LCI’s teaching artists. Specific responsibilities include:
· Provide overall administrative support for the management of the LCI Consultancies and National Educator Workshops; and other projects supervised by the Director of Strategic Alliances
· Prepare documents and process small mailings for the LCI Consultancies and National Educator Workshop program areas
· Coordinate all materials, packet preparation, supplies, catering, space, and set-up requests for LCI Consultancies and NEW events taking place at LCI
· Assist in the assignment of teaching artists to LCI instructional units and other work assignments
· Coordinate the scheduling of meetings and handle correspondence and phone calls for TASA staff members
· Track expenses for strategic alliances, assisting in budget preparation
· Perform other duties as required such as documentation, support for meeting preparation; assist with special projects, as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum 2 years office experience.
· Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and familiarity with Database programs and willingness to learn new computer and technology skills
· Strong interpersonal skills including professional telephone manner with the ability to exercise diplomacy and tact.
· Strong writing and proofreading skills.
· Flexible team player with ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Must take initiative, be a self-starter, and have strong organizational skills with attention to detail
· Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Knowledge of, or interest in, the arts and education.
· Ability to work overtime as needed.
