East Coast Advertising Sales Representative

The journal Science is one of the most prestigious and widely cited weekly scientific journals in the world. Founded by Thomas Edison in 1880, Science has been publishing high quality news and research for over 126 years. Science is seeking an Advertising Sales Representative based on the East coast. We are looking for a candidate that has a desire to pursue a career in the rewarding industry of STM publishing. The candidate should strive for excellence to reflect the tradition of Science. This position will allow the candidate to contribute to the continued growth and success of our Journal while experiencing the opportunity to realize your fullest potential, both personally and professionally in both print and online advertising. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator who is able to excel in an independent sales environment while also functioning as a team player. Drive and a passion for excellence are essential, and the ability to develop and maintain long lasting relationships with key decision makers.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree; minimum of 5 years media/publishing sales experience; strong communication and presentation skills; proficiency with Power Point, Excel, and Word; knowledge of online advertising; excellent written communication skills; understanding of business and advertising sales; salary very competitive and commissions; extensive travel required (60% to 70%).
