BROOKLYN BUREAU OF COMMUNITY SERVICE: The Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service is one of Brooklyn’s oldest and largest non-sectarian social services agencies. The Brooklyn Bureau has been a leading provider of social services to families, children, and adults with disabilities since 1866. The Brooklyn Bureau, which presently serves more than 13,000 individuals annually, is committed to a broad and diverse range of services including prevention of foster care placement; crisis intervention; early childhood and after school education; and vocational training, job placement, and clinical services to adults with physical and developmental disabilities, and histories of mental illness. Educational Day Care Centers and After school Programs. Our two day care centers, Duffield Children’s Center and Waverly Day Care Center, offer free or sliding-scale child care to low-income parents, providing educationally rich day care and after school programs to more than 425 children, ages 2 to 11. Teachers and volunteers foster environments where children gain reading and math skills. Through our privately-funded after school literacy and arts initiatives, children have the opportunity to make their own art and use stories, music, dance and drama to explore history, science, society and culture.




POSITION:
EARLY CHILDHOOD GROUP TEACHER, DUFFIELD CHILDREN’S CENTER

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach group of two year old children in a full day classroom.

REQUIREMENTS:
Certified in Early Childhood Education required. BA in Early Childhood required. Ability to relate well to young children, parents, and staff. Creativity and flexibility are needed.
