THE COMPANY
Our client is a global manufacturing leader headquartered in Reno, Nevada.
THE POSITION
The Division Controller reports directly to the Vice President of Finance & IT in Reno and is the company’s principal accounting officer. This position is responsible for guiding the successful operation of the company’s accounting/financial functions and a significant amount of internal management reporting. Included in this is the ability to develop and manage a number of financial and operational metrics.
Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Successful management of Financial Reporting, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Job Costing, payroll, and Cash Management functions for the Division office and three manufacturing facilities.
- Business and financial strategy and planning, monitoring, management and reporting, including management and development of policies, systems, processes and personnel involved. Ensure improved implementation of the internal control structure.
- Summarizing and forecasting company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earning based on past, present and expected operations.
- Directs preparation of budget, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
- Recommends to management, corporate economic strategies, objectives and policies for the Company.
- Completion of monthly and year end financial reporting requirements.
- Design, implementation and ensuring compliance of internal controls.
- Management of all audits of Company accounts.
THE CANDIDATE
The Division Controller must have a demonstrated record of accomplishment in a manufacturing culture focused on results and strategic agility. Specific requirements include:
- BS Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Advanced credentials such as MBA, CPA, or CMA are preferred.
- 5+ years accounting/financial experience in positions with increasing responsibility.
- Experience in an industrial setting / manufacturing environment.
- Desire and ability to move into positions of greater responsibility in 1-3 years.
- Familiarity with multi-state operations is preferred.
- 3+ years in a controllership or accounting management role.
- Strong financial reporting systems experience and sophisticated spreadsheet and database applications experience.
- Demonstrated strength in analytical, budgeting, and forecasting abilities.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications. Proven ability to convey financial concepts to operations teams.
- Described as highly motivated, self-starting, results oriented leader.
