We are an 85+ year old retail hardware store chain headquartered in Springfield, MA. We currently operate 30 stores in the Northeast (MA, RI, NH) and Florida. At Rocky’s, our accomplishments speak for themselves. Our vision is to build a chain of neighborhood hardware stores that can compete with the big boxes on the basis of service and convenience.
As District Manager with Rocky’s:
You will be accountable for driving district-wide business results through the effective selection, training and coaching of the store management team. You will also be responsible for driving the key areas of retail revenue growth, managing expenses, marketing and merchandising execution, developing the store team, and of course the factor that separates us from our competitors… Rocky’s legendary customer service.
Key Responsibilities include:
· Support and enforce effective execution of retail programs and strategies to achieve business standards and goals
· Analyze store financial data and partner with the Store Manager and others to take action to maximize revenues and control costs at or better than plan
· Model effective leadership to gain commitment to district goals and training standards
· Responsible for the selection and development of store personnel, aggressively recruiting high performing candidates
· Is accountable for store performance and through the store management team influences and directs the success of each located as defined by the P&L
· Embraces and implements store merchandising and marketing programs to enhance and grow the business.
· Implements all company policies procedures and guidelines as they relate to store operation
· Maintains an exemplary degree of professionalism in all situations
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Demonstrated skills in analyzing and interpreting business data; translating knowledge gained into bottom-line results at or better than goal
· Demonstrated skill in working with peers, direct reports and support departments to maximize bottom-line results at or better than goal
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills including word and excel
· Knowledge of hardware business a plus
· Demonstrated record of success managing P&Ls successfully and meeting budgetary requirements
· Demonstrated ability to make good business decisions
Credentials & Experience:
· 4 year Degree in business related area or equivalent
· 2-3 years multi-unit management (8 location minimum preferred) experience
· Minimum 3 to 5 years retail experience
