The mission the Corporate Stores is to bring the Hallmark image to life in a world-class specialty retail environment. As the future of the specialty retail channel unfolds, the District Manager has an exciting opportunity to act as a business owner and oversee the changing image of multiple stores.
Your primary objective as a District Manager is to establish a leadership role in the district. You will instill a strong customer service focus that embodies our core value that the customer always comes first. In addition, you will take an active role in the development of Store Managers in the district. This includes modeling the appropriate behavior and ensuring that all employees follow suit. As a Corporate Store DM, you will support all programs implemented by headquarters in Kansas City. You will have fiscal responsibility for all stores in your district with regard to: sales, payroll, shrinkage and markdowns and all other controllable expenses. In addition, as a Corporate Store DM, you are responsible for the succession planning process and for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating management candidates for the district.

Basic Qualifications:
3 – 5 years previous multi-unit specialty retail experience.A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Retailing Travel between stores is required and may involve overnight stays. Position requires physical duties involving lifting fixture parts and cartons weighing up to 40 pounds. Position based in either Orange County or San Diego, California
Other Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills, strong verbal selling skills, merchandising skills, organizational and time management skills, leadership and interpersonal skills, flexibility, a strong sense of urgency, the ability to adapt to change, and the ability to train and motivate employees. Due to the financial aspects of the job, the incumbent must also have business acumen and an aptitude for basic math functions, and be able to do calculations such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and figuring percentages. Computer literacy also preferred.
