Overview:
In this position you will work with the National Account Team to ensure effective pull-through and utilization within all markets, maximizing sales in your assigned area. You will determine the future leaders and develop specific development plans for your direct reports in coordination with sales training and sales management. In addition, you will work closely with the Regional Sales Director and National Account Team to meet sales and profit objectives while adhering to the corporate sales and marketing strategy, provide market insight to management and maintain up to date records on all direct reports.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for managing the activities of your direct reports in the promotion of our client’s products in an assigned area that covers broad markets (office based physicians as well as commercial and government based institutions). You will train, develop and guide sales professionals. You will be required to demonstrate integrated leadership across all sales forces to maximize sales within geographic areas. Your analysis of data and implementation of strategies consistent with direction from marketing and sales management is critical. You will be responsible for yours and your direct reports’ compliance with all legal and regulatory compliance requirements established by our client and governing the sales and promotion of its pharmaceutical products.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, required (preferably in business or life sciences), MBA preferred. A minimum of 3 years' pharmaceutical sales experience with 1 years' pharmaceutical sales management experience required. Broad-based market experience inclusive of office based physicians, hospital/institution and government facilities (VA, DoD, etc.) preferred. Knowledge of payer mix essential. The ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects and customers at one time is essential. Selected candidate must be able to exercise appropriate judgment when assessing the needs of each individual direct report. Requires a high level of initiative and independence. Additional requirements include excellent written and oral communication and PC (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and sales force automation systems) skills. Work hours may include meetings scheduled outside of normal working hours. Travel within territory required – may include both car and air travel depending upon territory. Some national travel to corporate headquarters, training and sales meetings may also be required on a periodic basis.
