Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE - District Asset Protection Managers are responsible for ensuring that Asset Protection programs are being executed within their district. They are responsible for managing and developing, as well as, providing critical direction related to the development and implementation of Asset Protection procedures, to the store-level AP Associates in their district. They must be able to handle multiple projects and gain the cooperation and buy-in of District and Store Management to achieve goals. They must remain focused on managing and addressing all District-specific business objectives, while ensuring that key AP responsibilities are fulfilled.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Evaluate operational processes for areas of opportunity. - Review and analyze District and store shrink and safety performance; identify District and store-specific trends; utilize exception and audit reporting information, CCTV, and data to identify incidents of dishonest activity, theft, fraud, and hazard and develop game plans to address deficiencies; communicate areas of opportunity to Store and District Management; monitor corrective action; maintain current case files, logs and reports.
- Investigate unsafe and incidents of theft and fraud. Obtain all information available surrounding event in question; partner with appropriate associate level to gain information; uncover all possible pertinent information, data, and images; notify business partners and superiors when required, maintain current case file; notify and partner with law enforcement when necessary.
- Determines specific store Safety and Shrink needs and partner with District Managers on action plan. Advise and counsel Store Managers, District Managers, and Human Resources Managers on the appropriate execution of Safety and Shrink policy.
- When appropriate, conduct integrity interviews, make apprehensions and notifying business partners and superiors when required. Notify and partner with law enforcement when necessary; maintain current case files and reporting; utilize the CMS for all applicable cases.
- Conduct and/or participates in operational and regulatory-compliance audits; conduct monthly AP Performance Review; participate in Quarterly Operations Review; perform regular follow-up walks of identified deficient areas; review progress related to the timely execution of game plans, communicate with Store and District Management on progress, partner with District Manager to address leadership and performance issues.
- Attract, recruit, and hire candidates; constantly seek out quality candidates; partner with HR during the selection and hiring process. Determine educational opportunities for all levels of associates and work through the District Manager, Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to execute training, including new Associate Safety and Shrink orientation.
- Actively participate in all District staff and stat meetings. Champions Safety and Shrink policy at all POSM meetings, and participate in pre-opening racking inspections.
- Partner with HR and Store Management on appropriate associate discipline for Safety and Shrink related offenses.

NATURE AND SCOPE - Position reports to Regional Asset Protection Manager. Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others in addition to personnel issues - including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about or occasionally there may be a requirement to stoop or lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of retail Asset Protection, Loss Prevention and Safety processes, programs and procedures.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to identify solutions to mitigate shrink, theft, and fraud and create safe work environments.
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive and controversial issues.
- Strong analytical skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS –
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must pass the Background Check.
Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable.
EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE – 5
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONs
- 2+ years District Asset Protection management preferred.
- Investigative interview training.
- Handling Hazardous Material safety training.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Project management experience preferred.
