PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage activities related to the distribution center * Establish methods to improve efficiency, inclusive of designing assembly lines where applicable. * Recommend and implement solutions to eliminate customer charge-backs. * Establish metrics for picking and packing activities. * Develop the warehouse layout in CAD drawings to accommodate changing demands. * Support Case Flow initiative and work aggressively towards converting entire business to it. * Conduct labor cost and packaging analysis and engage in cost reduction projects. * Plan and direct all engineering functions; projects, processes, QC/QA, government standards and custom requirements, testing procedures and OSHA. * Institute safety programs to create a safer workplace and reduce workers compensation costs. * Partner with HR to ensure employee related benefits are administered properly. * Ensure all employees adhere to company policies and procedures. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Will supervise all employees within the distribution center facility Job Title: Distribution Center Manager Primary Skills: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: * Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred. * 5-10 years Supervisory/Management experience required * Experience in warehousing and distribution of non-perishable soft goods * Shipping and receiving experience with good understanding of EDI * Knowledge of PKMS or any other Warehouse Management Systems * Previous labor cost analysis and cost reduction experience * Familiar with Inventory control, RF Scanning and Bar coding Industry: Consumer Goods Vacancies: 1 Job City: Des Moines Job Metro Area: Des Moines, IA Job State: IA Job Country: US Salary: Negotiable Hours per Week: Full Time Job Duration: Direct Placement Duration Detail: Degree Type: Bachelor of Science Degree Area: Business Experience Minimum: 5 years Certification/Licenses: This position will be located about 60 miles from the Des Moines area.
