About the Opportunity

This General Manager position plans, directs, coordinates and implements all warehouse policies and procedures.   The position oversees total responsibility for activities, configurations, production support, audit support and distribution support.  Works on special projects as assigned that have system and site impact to warehouse operations and Kenco business.  Directs and coordinates activities of industrial organization to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through delegation to subordinates.

 

About the Position

Analyzes operations on a continuing basis and makes necessary improvements to ensure operating efficiencies across functions of the Warehouse Operations.  Analyzes throughput information, capacity planning, flow through and financial information.Develops internal operational procedures, and assists in operational budget planning.Plans, develops and implements organizational policies and goals.  Supports and works closely with safety, human resources, and engineering department productivity improvement programs.  Ensures implementation of industry standard best practices in the facility. Supports and implements all corporate programs; EIP, BIP, KQMS, KFMS, Communication, and all Advocate programs.Must have a general knowledge of every facet of the operation and must strive to constantly develop staff and better the organization.  Ensures adequate coaching and management development of supervisors, foremen, and other staff to provide for capable management succession.Manages the customer inventory utilizing sound security policies and procedures consistent with good accounting and distribution practices.Reviews activity, operating, and financial reports to determine changes in programs or operations as required.Safety oriented, embracing a commitment to implement prescribed safety programs leading to the safety of all associates under the purview of this operation. Establishes product movement and oversees all projects for the facility operations.Directs the efforts of all supervisors, foremen, and warehouse employees.  Hires and downsizes staff as needed.

Qualifications

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common injuries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Ability to develop presentations and present information professionally to internal and external management/customers.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment.  Ability to work constructively under stress and pressure.  Ability to manage multiple projects and meet specific goals and deadlines. Ability to build a team attitude by managing employees in a way that fosters teamwork instead of individual gain.  Ability to motivate, train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of subordinates.  Ability to take corrective action in a constructive manner with employees who cause issues in the workplace.Ability to make sound and timely decisions.Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel (Access and Visio is also preferred)Experience with the implementation of Business Improvement programs such as Six Sigma practices and Lean Principals:

Education/Relevant Experience

Associate or Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
