Position Description: Position manages our disposal group operations. This entails coordinating all disposal and service work, managing the drum transfer facility, performing a range of compliance and reporting duties, and supporting the projects group for disposal. This position is also responsible for the management of personnel including: Field Chemist, Disposal Driver, and disposal Field Technicians.
Nature & Scope: This position reports directly to the General Manager. The position works in a fast paced highly regulated environment in the areas of waste pickups, offloads, compliance, and customer service. It requires daily communication with customers, field personnel, and governing agencies.
The successful candidate for this position will have:
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Proven organizational skills
· A comprehensive understanding of EPA, DEP, and DOT Hazardous materials and waste regulations
· Analytical skills
· The ability to work independently and accept challenges
· Ability to read and understand regulations and rules for compliance
· Strong computer skills including all MS Office applications
· A background in waste characterization and profiling
· A four year college degree
Principal Accountabilities:
· Scheduling & Project Setup: Coordinates with clients and internal staff to schedule disposal and service work. This includes generating paperwork (i.e. manifests, labels, permits, safety plans, etc.) and reviewing the files with the field leader assigned to the project or pickup.
· Customer Service: Contacts customers as needed for disposal services, inclusive of growing the disposal business through sales contact with potential customers. Responsible for administrative duties that include preparing disposal quotes, tracking orders for disposal materials (labels, containers, etc), and maintaining the generator database.
· Invoicing: Reviews disposal files from the field for completion. This includes making sure the file has all necessary copies of job and waste paperwork, weigh slips, subcontractor and vendor invoice copies, and any other information needed to prepare invoices.
· Operations Support: Prepares job paperwork for various types of disposal activities the company performs, including manifests, profiles, and offload inventories. Position may be asked to support clients and work in the field in emergency situations.
· Disposal Group Supervision: Supervises and schedules all operations of the transfer facility inclusive of scheduling trucks for offload and ensuring regulatory compliance. Supervises all disposal group staff inclusive of Field Chemist, Driver, and Disposal Facility Staff. Trains HHW workers, chemists, and drivers on SOP’s for waste handling and management including new regulatory and facility requirements.
· HHW/Depot/Thermostat Program: Represents the company on behalf of Household Hazardous Waste and Depot operations at meetings, seminars, bid walks, collection days (on site), and other functions. Manages the Thermostat Collection Program for the company.
· Compliance: Performs regulatory reporting such as, but not limited IFTA, IRP, RSPA, Generator Reports, Transporter Permit renewals, universal and hazardous waste inspections as needed.

Working Conditions:
85% Office work environment with some time in the field at job sites, customer locations, and depots for Household Hazardous Waste days. Typical 5 day schedule with some Saturdays required for HHW days along with the possibility of being called out for Emergency Response to spills.
