Summary of Position This position is responsible for directing all test activities in the support of technology, product development and customer service departments at Bay Point. The test function is responsible for the qualification and characterization of commercial and laboratory products. Specifically, the test function is responsible for fabricating test specimens, testing the specimens and reporting specimen test results. Sales Volume of Business Supported:$7 -125 million Annual Budget: $1.0 - $2.5 million Employees: 10-15 Job Responsibilities Direct the overall efforts of the test organization in analytical and mechanical testing Oversee day-to-day testing activities, establish and implement a strategy and budget consistent with a defined business plan Organize and direct resources to meet planned objectives, establish staffing requirements and personnel distribution, report on test activities and provide overall test support to customers, both internal and external Play a major role in the support of aerospace and related industry qualification activities Provide technical support services to Manufacturing and Quality as required Support cross-functional Stage-gate teams to achieve completion of projects consistent with established strategic objectives Establish and maintain technical test capability and competency consistent with industry standards, as it relates to adhesive and composite products Education & Professional Requirements BS in Chemistry or Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Material Science or related scientific discipline Graduate degree preferred Minimum of 10 years technical management experience in the aerospace industry working with adhesives and/or composite materials Thorough knowledge of aerospace materials and related structural materials testing, engineering requirements, and the capability to plan and direct test activities Effective leadership, team building, employee development, coaching, and motivational skills Additionall Requirements Regular travel within and outside of the United States Requires a valid drivers? license May require passing additional security screening based on customer requirements Physical Requirements Frequently sit, view a computer screen, and type on a keyboard for extended periods of time Verbally communicate one-on-one and in front of groups Occasionally may be required to reach, squat, bend and lift up to 25 pounds The Henkel of America Corporation is an equal opportunity employer Minority / Female / Disabled / Veteran Click here to apply
