SUMMARY OF POSITION: InfraSource Underground Services, Inc. (“IUS”) is a Quanta Services Company and provides infrastructure construction and support services to owners and builders of energy, power, pipeline and communications facilities throughout North America. IUS Corporate offices are located in Glen Ellyn, IL. IUS employs approximately 2,500 employees and its divisional locations cover the United States but are primarily located from Denver to the east coast. Our current ERP system is Spectrum but implementation of JD Edwards in the future is possible. Due to our growth projections and key initiatives under way, IUS is looking for a Director of Support Projects to be a key driver of back office support excellence. The Director of Support Projects will lead a team of direct and indirect employees in the succession implementation of F&A and IT initiatives.
Due to the multi-functional aspect of this position, the Director will report solid line to the CFO with a strong dotted line to the VP and General Manager of Support Services. The CFO is responsible for historical results and the financial projections of the company. The General Manager of Support Services overseas IT, Risk, Contract Management, HR and Supply and Equipment Management.
The Director of Support Projects is responsible for leading and managing key initiatives that we have including integration of companies into our F&A and IT systems. The successful candidate will demonstrate high initiative, be detail oriented, excellent facilitation skills and be an excellent planner. Also, the Director must be able to lead those that directly report to this position and those that do not. It is very important that this position not only be mindful of F&A and IT implications but also on the project implications to operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide project leadership and management through all phases of the project life-cycle.Develop and maintain business relationships throughout all levels of the organization.Identify and manage project issues and risks and facilitate resolution. Identify and communicate possible alternative methods to solve the particular business issue. Utilize best practices.Assist in the development and maintenance of detailed project work plans.Monitor the progress of the project and provide frequent status updates identifying the bottlenecks ensuring that the project is completed on time and all key objectives are met.Utilize Quanta’s Project Management StandardsEvaluate post-implementation success.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Information Technology.At least 3-5 of Accounting or IT experience.At least 3-5 years of cross-functional project management experience.PMP or similar certification preferred.Spectrum or JD Edwards experience preferred.Willingness to travel 25% of the time. Certain amount of the travel will be limited to day trips.
