Primary Function:

This position is responsible for overseeing Sales Supervisors in their region.   It is responsible for interviewing and recruiting quality Sales Supervisors, who can recruit and manager agents to produce a sufficient amount of Medicare sales, and to complete field evaluations as required.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·        The Sales Manager will interview and recruit quality general agents who can recruit and manage producers to write a sufficient amount of Medicare + Choice sales.  The Sales Manager will also be responsible for the training and monitoring all agents assigned to the Manager.  NOTE: The final approval in determining the recruitment of independent agents will be the Vice President of Medicare Sales.

·        The Sales Manager may be required to assist in the initial certification training of the independent agents as well as future training.

·        The Sales Manager must, minimally, work with new Supervisors in their first 60 days.

·        The Sales Manager must monitor the assigned Sales Supervisors and is responsible for field evaluations for the Sales Supervisors as required.

·        The Sales Manager is in charge of lead distribution to sales staff.

·        The Sales Manager will work with the Sales Supervisors independent agents whenever necessary.

·        The Sales Manager is responsible for accumulating of competitive benefits and developing sales strategy to be used against competition.

The Sales Manager will conduct weekly meetings and monthly meetings with all Sales Supervisors and independent agents.

Job Related Skills:

 

Significant experience in sales managementBroad knowledge of managed care conceptsExcellent analytical, organizational and decision making skillsStrong leadership, negotiation and communication skillsExceptional presentation skills Ability to communicate well with all levels of sales personnel, all types of providers and the insurance brokerage community. Ability to communicate one on one with other departments within the company.  Computer skills are required.

 

Experience:

 

·        Be a licensed health agent in Illinois, in good standing, and supply HealthSpring, Inc. with a copy of your license.

·        Ability to be appointed with HealthSpring, Inc.

·        Experience in sales management preferred.

·        Extensive understanding of Medicare and how it relates to Medicare beneficiaries.
