POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for the overall sales and marketing efforts of the hotel. Uses leadership skills to drive revenue, maximize profit and ensure quality. Effective management of assigned staff to ensure achievement of overall financial results, guest satisfaction and positive employee relations. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

1. Sales: Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive business plan that defines hotel sales objectives and supports financial goals. Responsible for soliciting transient and group demand generators to capitalize on revenue opportunities. Proactively positions and markets the hotel by effective revenue/yield management to achieve maximum hotel profit. Uses expertise to advise and implement changes to sales and marketing efforts based on sales and guest comments.

 2. Cost Control: Responsible for management of sales and marketing expenses to maximize hotel profitability, and increase return on investment. Responsible for effective labor management through proper scheduling, monitoring, and adjusting based on business needs. Follows procurement guidelines and applies good business judgment. Assists with the preparation and management of the department budget. Manages and maintains company assets to stay within budget guidelines and prolong the life of company resources.

3. Guest Service: Accountable for guest satisfaction by developing and maintaining long-term, value-based client relationships. Ensures effective communication of client needs from sales to appropriate operational departments. Resolves complaints and concerns in courteous and friendly manner, focuses on service recovery when applicable. Works side by side with sales staff to train and model appropriate guest service standards.

 4. Training: Responsible for training all employees and ensuring training records are maintained. Analyzes quality issues, identifies training needs and ensures implementation to improve results. Utilizes available resources and adheres to training policies. Ensures all, brand, and department specific training requirements are met.

5. Safety/Risk Management: Ensures a clean and safe work environment to maintain standards per, brand, local, state and federal regulations. Follows all procedures for guest/employee incidents.

 6. People Management: Responsible for interviewing, hiring, coaching, and development of all employees. Evaluates staff performance and takes appropriate corrective action as needed to hold employees accountable. Motivates staff by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding/recognizing employees.

 7. Self/Workload Management: Responsible for effective self/workload management. Demonstrates clear written and verbal communication skills. Promotes collaboration and positive, professional work environment. Attends all daily, weekly and/or monthly department/hotel meetings to ensure proper communication/planning occurs. Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures.

Hilton Garden Inn Experience preferred -Experience selling to a variety of market segments.

 -Actively participate in industry related organizations.

-Strong background in selling rooms,

 F&B, Catering, Meeting Rooms, and A/V.

-Thorough knowledge of sales techniques.

-Enjoy asking for business and closing sales.

 -Consistently make cold calls.

 -Aggressively pursue new accounts on a weekly basis.

 -Consistently book repeat business.

 -Track record developing long term business relationships.

-Maintain consistent verbal and written communication with clients.

 -Work effectively with Rooms and Banquet Departments.

 --Participate in local community to develop business.

 -Attend trade shows and participate in sales blitzes.

 -Excellent phone sales skills.

-Consistently meet or exceed sales goals.

-Enjoy a team sales approach.

 -Desire recognition and compensation based on personal sales production.

 -Maintain and use trace system.

-Salary based on experience.

 Experience in Corporate and Group sales.

 Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.

 Ability to sell concepts and ideas to management, peers, and employees.

 Experience making presentations in front of groups.

 Ability to clearly and concisely present technical subjects

 Use a "hands-on" approach to management. -Travel 10% annually . -
