Director, Quality Management - FT Days 40 hrs/week 

The VP/Director of Quality Management is responsible for all facets of an integrated, organization-wide performance improvement and patient safety program. 

General Responsibility:
Plans, organizes and directs the implementation of organization-wide performance improvement.

In collaboration with the Director, Risk Management and the Safety Officer, plans, organizes and directs the implementation of organization-wide patient safety activities.

Provides support, advice and consultation to the organization’s leaders as they fulfill their responsibilities for performance improvement and patient safety.

Provides staff assistance and consultation to the Quality Forum, to medical staff departments/committees, and hospital departments/services in all facets of the Performance Improvement & Patient Safety program.

Coordinates data collection, validation and submission for the Hospital Quality Alliance, Core Measures and Leapfrog Surveys.

Coordinates the measurement and/or assessment of performance through data collection, analysis, and utilization of resulting information for performance improvement. Provides technical assistance in data collection, analysis and utilization. Includes root cause analyses and Failure, Mode Criticality and Effect analyses.

Coordinates the selection, training, facilitation and implementation of interdisciplinary performance improvement teams.

Coordinates the use of customer feedback information for performance improvement.

Communicates with leaders, staff, physicians, and other appropriate entities regarding performance improvement and patient safety activities and progress.Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, with a major in a health-related field.
2. Certified professional in healthcare quality (CPHQ).
3. Minimum three years clinical experience in an acute care facility.
4. Knowledge and skills in:
a. Quality management responsibilities;
b. Collaboration and Team facilitation;
d. Process improvement;
e. Measurement and analysis of performance improvement data;
f. Effective interpersonal and group communication, both oral and written;
g. Orientation and training;
h. Regulatory compliance requirements;
I. Policy and procedure development.
