Are you looking for a company that you can learn and grow? Then this might be the job for you.  We are looking for a Director of Purchasing & Logistics to join our team based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

 

As a member of the Executive Team, this associate leads the development and operations of the Purchasing and Logistics function.  Some duties include:

 

·       Financial: Provide input related to supply, materials and logistics to establish and achieve the approved budget. Provide input to the annual capital expenditures budget.

·       Metrics: Monitor costs during a purchase order period and achieve operating metrics and expense budget.  Establish and monitor annual goals and objectives for the Purchasing and Logistics function.

·       Safety: Assure the safety, protection and efficient use of financial, physical and human resources of the organization, as it relates to incoming raw materials and purchases.

·       Operations: Support the operations and growth of the organization by developing vendor accountability systems and contingency plans that ensure quality, capability and capacity.

·       Values: Model the Corporate Values and Principles, including instilling a high performance, people-driven culture, providing high expectations and high support.

·       Customer Service: Support a customer-focused culture for operations. Contribute to company cross-functional teams, including customer visits and interaction as needed, to achieve the overall effectiveness of customer relationships.

·       People: Build a network of highly trained plant buyers capable of carrying out the Purchasing and Logistics goals and objectives in support of the annual and long-term growth plans of the organization.

·       Capacity: Create, establish and manage the capacity and capability of the vendors that provide raw materials to meet fluctuating customer demands and growth of the organization, minimizing business risk.

·       Continuous Improvement: Create a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement, including contributing to and supporting product development, new business development and the operations objectives as well as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing.

·       Mergers and Acquisitions: Support the due diligence, purchasing synergies, and integration of mergers and acquisitions by realigning corporate assets to achieve the overall strategic plan and profitable growth.

·       Develop and maintain the Multi-Color MWBE spending program.

·       Policies and Procedures:  Establish and maintain purchasing and logistics best practice systems, including technology advances, policies and procedures (such as terms) to assure optimization of purchasing power and financial controls.

·       Vendors:  Source, negotiate, qualify and maintain vendor relationships.  Reduce overall costs by managing credit/payment terms, technical innovation, delivery terms and standardization. Develop exclusive supply arrangements.

·       Manage purchasing contracts: Negotiate and administer all purchasing contracts. Resolve any issues with vendors, including accounts payable terms, price discrepancies, quality and delivery.

 

 

Requirements:

 

·       Bachelors Degree, 5 years experience, proven success in contract development, negotiations, bid processes, and formal methods for evaluating suppliers. Understands international purchasing and logistics. Prefer an MBA and/or APICS/CPM certification.

·       Literate in MicroSoft Office or the equivalent. Previous experience with on-line bid processes.

·       Articulate, clear, persuasive and passionate in the spoken and written word.

·       Make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics.

·       Perform college level mathematical calculations.

·       Travel and move about in offices and plants.

·       Demonstrate a professional image.

·       Rational, logical, fact-driven, and reality driven decision making.

·       Read and analyze the most complex documents.

·       Relate to people at all levels of the organization.
