Near Southwest Suburban location (Easy commute from Chicago, Downers Grove or Joliet!)

For the sixth year in a row (a record for community hospitals !), my client (500+ beds) has been named one of “America’s Best Hospitals” in the 18th annual edition of U.S. News & World Report published July 15.

The Chief Nursing Officer has engaged our firm to help them identify top industry talent to lead their clinical education component (all educators will report to them) including the research and education component. Visionary NEEDED. The position is very highly visible within the system, reporting to the Chief Nursing Executive.

This position is responsible and accountable for the development, planning, coordination, and implementation of an education and research program based on best practice principles. The role entails the oversight of educational programs and activities for hospital staff. Provides leadership to embed active clinical nursing research at the bedside as well as to facilitate research design; assure that practice variations can be evaluated and reported using research based methodologies. Evaluate educational processes within the institution and the implementation of evidenced based education. Outcomes will include validation and documentation of competent staff and overall compliance with regulatory agencies including adherence to the OSHA/JACHO/IDPH requirements.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Graduation from and accredited School of Nursing and a master’s degree in Nursing is required; doctoral degree is preferred.

Must have current RN licensure through the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation; CPR instructor trainer or ACLS status preferred.

Must have five to seven (5-7) years of experience in a Health Care delivery system or educational environment with emphasis on the following skills:
1. High level of analytical ability
2. Exceptional communication skills
3. Demonstrated experience in conducting nursing research
4. Grant writing expertise
5. Proficient computer skills
6. Group process skills
