Excellent opportunity with a large not-for-profit healthcare system in the state of South Carolina for a Director of Nursing in Children's Services.  At this time they consist of five hospitals with their flagship being a 729 bed Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching facility.  The Children's Hospital is a hospital within the main campus consisting of 130 beds.  They offer the only pediatric services in the region to include: Level III Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, Pediatric emergency Care, General Pediatrics for Infant/Toddlers and Adolescents, as well as, Hematology/Oncology.

The department consists of 300 FTE's with four Managers and a direct report to the Senior Administrator of the main hospital campus.  This is a newly created position separating children's services out from under the Maternal Child umbrella.  The Children's Hospital is experiencing tremendous growth and are continuing to add specialty services.  A future goal is to have a free standing children's hospital.  In the meantime, one of the challenges is managing the increased patient volumes with the space that is currently available to them.  This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing program with significant input into the direction and needs of the community and the services provided.

A qualified candidate for this position must be RN with BSN required or MSN.  Must also have a minimum of 3-5 years leadership experience in a Nurse Manager or Directors level as well as a minimum of 3-5 years Pediatric clinical experience.  Must be solid, calm, have a pleasant demeanor, have good physician relations, be fair with solid interpersonal skills and be a visionary.

This area of South Carolina offers many amenities.  The city is located two hours east of Atlanta, GA, one hour north of Columbia, SC, two hours west of Charlotte NC and an hour south of the North Carolina mountains.  The city is also culturally rich with international industry.
