Position Summary

o        The Director of Finance is responsible for revenue cycle management including daily operations of all hospital cost accounting, decision support, accounts payable, and payroll functions. 

o        The position reports to the CFO and oversees approximately 20 FTEs, including a manager as a direct report. 

o        Qualified candidates will be seasoned professionals with a minimum of five to six years experience at the director-level in a similarly sized healthcare organization. 

o        The ideal candidate will be technically competent with a broad base of systems knowledge, familiarity with integration of “best of breed” systems and applications, with supply chain, new service line, and joint venture experience. 

o        Additionally, candidates should have strong organizational and time management skills, the ability to manage and motivate their team, and work well across all levels within the organization including physicians. 

o        Master’s degree in finance or a related field is required; individuals who are currently enrolled in an accredited Master’s program are encouraged to apply. 

 

Hospital Summary

o        This is a 240-bed, county operated, not-for-profit hospital offering a broad range of services, including general medical and surgical care, intensive care, cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, obstetrics, orthopedics, emergency medicine, and trauma care.

o        In 2006, the hospital opened its new comprehensive heart and vascular center, with expanded intensive care and cardiovascular care units.  Also in 2006 the new state-of-the-art emergency center opened and includes a critical decision unit, fast track area, a specialized cardiac unit, and two trauma rooms.  Additionally, the newly expanded women’s imaging center opened recently. 

o        VHA, Inc. awarded the hospital in 2007 with its VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence, honoring the hospital for meeting or exceeding national performance standards for clinical care in its efforts in the treatment of heart attack patients and the prevention of blood stream infections.
