The Science Museum of Virginia Foundation, Inc. is seeking a Director of Finance. The Foundation is a dynamic organization dedicated to supporting the Science Museum of Virginia’s mission to bring science education throughout the Commonwealth. Our team raises funds for the museum for programs such as fee removal for low income families, supplemental educational programming in underserved school systems, teacher workshops, and so much more.

Responsibilities include all financial operations of SMVF, including:

Reconciliation of financial records system All financial reporting: preparation of annual financial statements, coordination of the annual audit and tax filings Administrator of employee benefits programs: payroll, health, life insurance, cafeteria and retirement plans Cash flow management, unitization of earnings, aiding in development of budget and strategic policies and procedures

Requirements:

BS, Accounting Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible accounting experience Excellent communications, interpersonal relations, and computer skills Non-profit experience a plus Knowledge of Financial Edge a plus CPA a plus
