PMK/HBH, the premiere Public Relations Agency, seeks a Director of Finance/Controller to lead our Finance team.

Summary:

The finance Director / Controller supervises a staff of 10 employees and oversees day-to-day operations of finance and accounting, HR and office services. This position is responsible for the timely and accurate closing and reporting of the business unit operating results, budget planning and analysis, and all company financial operations. This position is an integral part of the executive management team and acts as an advisor to the team.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Financial Reporting Responsible for timely and accurate reporting to parent company in accordance with US GAAP and IPG Standard Policies and Procedures Prepare and review client contracts and ensure proper revenue
recognition in accordance with US GAAP Maintain and review monthly and quarterly variance analysis to ensure
answers are complete, concise and adequate Oversee the maintenance of company revenue pipeline review and ensureit is accurate and continuously updated Prepare various monthly financial recap reports for executive management team. Maintain staffing schedules and provide scenario forecast based on
management team business decisions Responsible for timely submission of City and county property tax
schedules & audits Responsible for mentoring of accounting and operations staff including
HR Manger, Office Manager, Receptionist and accounting/finance staff
with a dotted line over IT/MIS

 

Finance Controls:

 

Responsible for implementation and maintenance of internal controls in
accordance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley and IPG policies and procedures. Work with corporate legal team on various legal issues from collection
problems to large contract negotiations to employee issue

 

Management Reporting:

 

Responsible for preparing budgets and forecasts; ensure proper accounting treatment of revenues, expenses, restructuring, etc.
Responsible for implementation and distribution of various monthly financial recap reports for executive management team. Reports include budget variances on revenue,
headcount/salary and general operating expenses Manage company capital expenditure budgets Keep management abreast of accounting issues Provide guidance and suggestions on how to meet budget targets

 

Operational Responsibilities:

 

Oversee development of client profitability analyses, including
pricing models, forecasting and actual analyses Develop and implement processes to control and manage costs
Ensure company policies are being followed to increase efficiencies
and reduce costs Train personal on how to properly prepare project estimates and how
to properly manage those budgets once approved to maximize company profitability

 

Qualifications:

 

BA in Business (Accounting, Finance or related) 7+ years related experience (agency experience strongly preferred) Must have current GAAP knowledge and good Technical accounting background (experience in dealing with revenue recognition preferred) Strong management and supervisory skills; must be willing to do hands-on training and supervision of more junior staff Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong Excel skills Proficiency and aptitude with computer hardware/software
Team player Strong Organizational skills Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to work independently and in Teams Working knowledge of Adware and/or Monarch software a plus
