DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING 

The Director of Engineering will lead the development of On Deck’s revolutionary lending platform. This role will spearhead technology strategy and implementation, managing both an in-house team and an outside team of vendors. This position offers an opportunity to shape an innovative platform that will transform the financial services industry.  

 

The focus of this role is to:

Architect and lead On Deck’s technology strategy. Perform detailed technology planning, requirements analysis, and system design. Lead and develop proprietary technology solutions that achieve competitive advantage. Manage internal and external resources to develop and enhance On Deck’s proprietary loan servicing platform, as well as prototype advanced technologies. Develop, maintain and adapt the proprietary user, administrative and third party interface functions of On Deck’s automated loan enrollment, underwriting, funding and collection system. Use sound judgment and expertise to identify components of the application design process to transition in-house from third party vendors. Manage corporate technology resources.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Exceptional software design instincts and development ability. Excellent project management, technical writing and vendor management skills. At least 10 years of software development experience, with expertise in developing enterprise Java applications. Demonstrated leadership managing external developers as well as mentoring a team of in-house developers.  Ability to thrive in an environment of rapid change. Superior self-motivation, leadership, integrity and interpersonal skills required. Experience developing processing platforms for financial services a strong plus Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science; Masters of Science/PhD a plus.
