Job Description
Director of Dining Services
Chartwells is looking for a Director located in Columbus, Mississippi to oversee a school district. You will be resonisble for managing all financials with the approved budget, while providing the Client with the maximum value for the dollars spent. You will ensure that the food offered to the students, faculty, guests and employees of the community is of superior quality. Direct and conduct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs. Maintain excellent relationships with students, faculty, guests and Client as well as other departments within the community. Promote the professional growth and development of the entire team.
Recipe to Succeed:
Supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skillsGood communication skills both written and verbalAbility to communicate on various levels to include management, students, client, associate and departmental levelsKnowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting and computational practicesProficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the InternetPrepares all required District, State and USDA reports.Insure compliance by all serving and production sites of all CRE Review
standards, audits the school offices on the approval procedures for Free
and Reduced Price Meal applications, and coordinates verification of same.Provides, with District approval, catering services for school and
community events.
Necessary Ingredients:
B.S. Degree in Food Service Management and/or equivalent years of experienceMinimum of three (3) to five (5) years of School dining experience preferred, depending upon formal degree or training Three (3) to five (5) years of direct foodservice operational management experience, with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable ServSafe® certified a plus
