Grantham University, a private online university currently searching for an experienced Director of Curriculum Development to work as an integral part of the University's Academic team. 

 

Position Description

·         Manages course guide authors, instructional designers, desktop publishers, and academic office staff.

·         Selects personnel and adds new staff when necessary.

·         Manages master course development schedule (for new edition textbooks and problem courses).

·         Oversees curricula realignment.

·         Revises course guide editing scheme for those courses that are opened but contain problems.

·         Selects instructional materials for new courses in conjunction with the subject matter expert (SME).

·         Develops new programs and designs new program curricula in conjunction with SMEs.

·         Proofs authored course guides when capable; sends other selected course guides to an SME editor.

·         Authors and edits selected course guide materials (13 this year to date).

·         Trains faculty on academic operational procedures and creates and maintains online faculty professional development in conjunction with Academic Dean and Faculty Dean.

·         Trains admissions staff on academic operational procedures.

·         Trains desktop publishers on academic operational procedures.

·         Supervises custom publishing projects with publishing companies.

·         Mentors faculty in using vBulletin (online discussion board).

·         Revises and maintains course development manual.

·         Interfaces with Assistant Deans

·         Project manages transition of all assessments into Perception software.

·         Project manages transition of selected courses into course management system (Course Compass).

·         Creates and revises course development budget.

·         Supervises maintenance of staff and program Website information.

·         Develops Grantham’s project management system via MS Project.

·         Revises and maintains University organizational charts.

·         Project manages DETC reaccreditation report generation and submission and site visit coordination.

·         Serves on committees for DETC 5-year reaccreditation, NCA, ABET accreditation.

·         Additional duties as assigned.

 

Required/Preferred Skills and Experience

 

·         Ability to make decisions and work independently with exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.

·         Required proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products, Internet, MS Project, course management systems, computerized assessment software, and web authoring software

·         Advance professional business writing skills.

·         Ability to work from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday with frequent overtime.

·         In-depth knowledge of distance learning educational models, adult learning styles, and technology-assisted instruction.

·         Master’s degree in Instructional Technology or related field required.
