Prestigious client in the Manufacturing space in Northern New Jersey is searching for a Director of Cost Accounting.

This position reports directly to the Controller of the organization and has a high level of exposure to management.

Responsibilities and qualifications as follows:

Implement internal control procedures, issue resolution, cost center accounting, material price and usage variances. Assist in developing cost system, overhead allocation reports, cycle counts, accruals, journal entries. Create and maintain all standard costs, prepare variable and fixed manufacturing costs. Construct and employ closing processes for product costing/inventory valuation. Direct and guide staff in the development of audit procedures used for inventory reconciliations. Reconcile cost and fixed asset accounts. Analyze cost and margin variances. Report gross margin by product. Prepare overall cost center annual planning/budget schedule of activities. Be the expert for all costing issues.

There are approximately 800 employees at this location.

The individual MUST have cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. There are multiple cost centers, multiple products and multiple stages of the process to be accounted for. This is a hands on role in a fast-paced environment. CMA is preferred but not required. 10+ years.
