JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Maintenance reports to the Sr. VP of Hangar Operations. He or she is responsible for the management of aircraft maintenance and modification activities, including management of related work control, quality, safety, personnel, and administration functions in conformance with the company procedures and in line with company schedules, budgets and profit objectives.
The Director of Maintenance is responsible for the development and implementation of established department policies and procedures to achieve effective on time maintenance and modification performance consistent with quality goals, program schedules and budgets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Directs the maintenance personnel by establishing and maintaining all policies and procedures.
2. Oversees the development of departmental budgets.
3. Coordinates and insures the validity of the maintenance and modification programs.
4. Reviews all bids for labor accuracy prior to submittal to sales and marketing or Program Manager.
5. Oversees the aircraft maintenance and modification operations, hangar, structures, back shops, interior, painting, avionics, line operations performed by all skills.
6. Maintains manpower requirement sheets and insures adequate staff and equipment are available to accomplish planned work.
7. Maintains overall coordination through Program Management between production and support functions to assure adherence to customer and company schedules.
8. Establishes and maintains a safe working environment and safe work practices that meet applicable regulatory, professional and company standards.
9. Assures safety and control of company assets assigned for production applications.
10. Assures that the maintenance/modification activities are carried out in compliance with department and company procedures, established work schedules and budgets.
11. Insures company labor utilization goals are achieved.
12. Assists Sales and Marketing during bids and proposal activity.
13. Coordinates with the Quality Assurance Manager to insure all regulatory requirements are met.
14. Insure that incidents and accidents are documented and are reported in a timely manner.
15. Assists the Quality Assurance Manager during company and department audits.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
4 year degree and 10 – 15 years aviation experience or 15 – 20 years without a degree.
