The Journal Record, part of Dolan Media Company, publisher of law and business newspapers in over 22 markets, seeks a dynamic, creative individual to join our team!   We are seeking an Advertising Director for our Oklahoma City office of The Journal Record and Tinker Take Off.   The Advertising Director is responsible for the display and classified sales of the newspaper, special sections and the web site.  The individual generally hires, coaches, trains and manages sales personnel, establishes strategic plans for the growth of advertising revenues, seeks out the means of increasing market share, generates ideas to create new sales to win over potential clients, and leads the overall sales effort (Display and Classified).  

Additional responsibilities include:
  -        Meet and exceed budgeted revenue and goals. -       Manage, lead and develop The Journal Record, Tinker Take Off sales, custom/contract sales and sales administration staff -        Forecast and track sales for newspapers and special publications -        Lead group sales meetings and regularly scheduled one-on-ones -       Negotiate large contracts and go on sales calls with staff as needed -        Work with sales team on account strategies and goal setting -        Provide support and accountability for sales team as needed -        Monitor collections -        Work with creative services staff to increase efficiency -        Plan and implement ongoing sales training -        Hire and train new sales people -        Oversee all special publications including sales, production and delivery -        Develop editorial focus sections, new products and editorial calendar -        Coordinate special events and add new events (with the publisher) -        Coordinate and develop national sales -        Update rates cards, special publication marketing pieces and media kit materials -        Develop annual revenue and expense budget for the advertising and creative services departments (with the publisher) -        Represent The Journal Record through community involvement

We offer an excellent compensation plan that includes an annual base salary plus commissions and bonuses.
