My client, a growing Service Industry Company in Philadelphia is seeking an ambitious Director of Accounting to join their talented team. This position will be responsible for supporting the accounting for complicated transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, derivatives, ect., and acting as the primary liaison with Corporate Accounting and our external auditors with respect to these complicated transactions. This position is also responsible for maintaining , interpreting and monitoring compliance with the accounting policies and procedures of the company, including compliance with provisions of Sarbanes-Oxley. In this role, one will need to thoroughly assess the current accounting policies and procedures of the division, implement change as needed to comply with SEC, GAAP and company policies. In addition, this position will need to coordinate, review, and report the results of Financial Management Reviews performed at various subsidiaries throughout the year to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. This position will also be responsible for the oversight of STAT financial statement preparation for multiple subsidiaries. Will be responsible for coaching other members of the financial reporting group to increase insurance industry accounting expertise. Qualifications :
Requirements: 3 + years of public accounting experience or equivalent industry experience, CPA/MBA required, experience with a Big 4 Audit firm is preferred, familiarity with the provisions of the Sarbanes Oxley Act, candidate must have excellent communication skills, prior management experience is preferred, International travel is required and estimated at 15%
