DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING

A center city financial conglomerate is in need of an Accounting Director for one of their Business Units with international exposure.  This position is highly visible to the CAO, and offers a great career path to the next level(s) of this Fortune 200 organization.  This position will be responsible for supporting the accounting for complicated transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, derivatives, etc., and acting as the primary liaison with Corporate Accounting.

Responsibilities:

*      Provide technical accounting expertise in support of acquisition/divestiture and other complex accounting transactions and transactions involving management’s judgment. 

*       Lead efforts to improve internal controls and financial reporting within the division.  Continue to assess and resolve accounting and internal control issues that are uncovered.
*       Direct the Divisional efforts to implement and comply with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, including the documentation and testing of key processes and controls at significant operational locations on a periodic basis.
*       Lead the effort to re-engineer/develop the application of GAAP and SEC.

Requirements:

*       Technical accounting knowledge acquired through 7+ plus years of public accounting or equivalent industry experience
*       CPA/MBA required 4+ Years of public accounting and private industry experience with a minimum of 5 years in a Big 4 Audit Firm
*       Demonstrated recent experience in working with the provisions of the Sarbanes Oxley Act
*       Prior management experience preferred
*       International travel required and estimated at 15%.
