SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

This role exists to manage the Marketing Strategy Managers and develop and execute marketing plans that are consistent with the needs of the business and linked tightly with the goals of the General Managers. Additional this role exists to garner and publish segment insight that enables informed decision making throughout the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

·          Manage the Marketing Strategy Managers – Institutionalize the segmentation, forecasting, and marketing planning functions to produce consistent, timely, and actionable data critical to decision making and sales and marketing strategies. Establish Marketing Strategy Managers as the resident experts within their respective areas of focus ( publishing, commercial, retail, direct mail, etc ) and a key insight provider to the organization at large.

·          Oversee the execution and application of extensive customer and market segmentation. Produce findings that serve as a foundation for critical decision making throughout the organization but especially in the areas of allocation, pricing, and sales and marketing planning.                                      

·          Develop and execute a customer end use segment forecasting process that results in clear understanding of segment trends and impact to the business.  Translate segment forecasts to sales and General Management strategies and proactively publish same across the organization. Embed this process and findings into both the annual planning process as well as in for use with near term and transactional decision making.       

·          Utilize competitive intelligence findings to recommend changes to products, services, sales and marketing strategies, or other operational applications as appropriate. Regularly publish findings throughout the organization.

·          Working in conjunction with the General Managers and Sales Leadership, develop and execute Marketing plans that drive change in areas of critical business need.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

·          MBA preferred.

·          5-7 years of marketing experience required.

 

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

·          Strong industry and supply chain acumen a must.
