Group Objective:

 

The Marketing & Advisor Practice Management team is responsible for developing GrowthPoint®, Schwab Institutional’s industry leading practice management program for independent advisor clients.  As a key part of the value-added services Schwab Institutional offers its clients, the GrowthPoint practice management program provides a suite of services, tools and insights that help advisors run their business optimally and make more informed decisions when planning for growth and change.  GrowthPoint comprises six offerings:  Business Strategy & Planning, Human Capital, Marketing & Business Development, Transition Planning, Compliance and Technology & Operations.  These services provide access to thought leadership, actionable best practices, case studies, proprietary diagnostic tools, and tactical templates and are delivered through a variety of media and channels, including personalized consulting support, knowledge sharing workshops and events as well as comprehensive resources delivered online and in insightful publications.   

 

Job Description:

 

We are looking for an experienced Marketing and Program Management professional who thrives on innovation, leading products and programs from concept to market and delivering meaningful outcomes for clients.  The ideal candidate will have the experience to excel in the role as well as a commitment to a culture that centers on teamwork and serving clients.  As a key member of the Schwab Institution organization, the Director of Marketing & Practice Management will focus on leading the design, development and delivery of GrowthPoint®, Schwab Institutional’s industry leading practice management program for our independent advisor clients.  As practice management is one of Schwab Institutional’s key areas of strategic focus, the Director will have a significant impact on deepening client relationships, driving future growth of Schwab Institutional and helping our clients grow, compete and succeed. 

 

The Director will be responsible for end-to-end management of practice management offerings including delivering current services as well as leading the next stage of development and of the practice management offering.

The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:

+10 years in a product or program management and development role preferably in a business to business environment Superior teamwork and project management skills with demonstrated success managing multiple projects that involve multiple stakeholders A client-centric focus – keeps clients in forefront of decisions, connects plans and actions to our purpose of serving clients Experience managing teams of direct and indirect reports Confidence and thought-leadership capability; comfort presenting to senior executives Strategic thinking capabilities and a history of implementing complex programs Experience serving the financial services industry, advisor market or small business markets is highly desired An MBA or equivalent experience and a clear understanding of business fundamentals (e.g. financial statements, business functions, organization structure).
